Stunning I am curious to know how much a pair like this would sell for as I never sold any of my projects and have now idea what it is worth.

Excellent choice of woods, they really work well together. Welcome to the best site on the net for sharing, learning, and meeting new friends. I look forward to some details on those rockers and any other projects you may have pics of. Like Jason, I’d like to know if you are a pro or not. Hope to see more from you.
Later,

I love the butterflies….they are pleasant to the eye. Of course here you ain’t gonna find a lot of critics, except for the ones who are critics of themselves. We are hard on ourselves around here.

Beautiful job Layton, and welcome to LJs. You’ve done a great job on these rockers…it’s evident a lot of time has been put into them.

I’m curious, are the legs joined to the runners with a hip joint?

Thanks for posting them.

WOW, what a warm welcome and thank you all so much for the complements,I do beleive that this site is going to be alot of fun and informative so long as you all can deal with my spelling.
some answers to your questions: yes that is a hip joint on the rockers reinforsed with a screw sent up the leg.
(Also called a bridal joint I do beleive)
And yes I am a pro (meaning I do this for a living) but I am forever learning till the day I get planted under that walnut tree. You can veiw my web-site at Laytonscott.com The site could use some updateing.
oh and I live at the foot of the catskill mountains in upstate NY. have a great day all thanks again. Layton
