Curly redwood bowl. The pictures can’t possibly do this wood justice. The curly redwood shimmers and looks different as you turn it and the the light catches it at different angles. It looks 3 dimensional in spots. This beauty comes with a price: tear-out during the turning was a constant issue, no matter how sharp my tools were. Took a lot of sanding to reach the final product. Finished with mineral oil and Bee’s wax.
This bowl is for sale over at Etsy

Nice. Looks like silk draped on the inside. I am sure with natural light and by eye the piece is astonishing. Thanks for sharing.

Wonderful bowl. I love redwood but it does splinter rather easily (dents easily too). Great job.
