That is a great looking table. I’m looking to build one (this year I hope) but still sifting through plans to find the right one. Thanks for sharing.

Hi JChaffins, Thank you for the comment. I have been using the same router table for over 25 years and finally saw the need to up grade. I began looking around for a better table and found this one of which research showed it to be my best choice. I am not sorry that I did this one.

Hi Ivan, Thank you That is quite a compliment. It was a fun build and I would do it again in a heart beat. Using the kiln dried 2×4 material was a good choice as it made the build cheap but also strong and gave me the weight that I was seeking for the top of this size. Without the weight it is similiar to that of a lathe as one without weight will show in your finished projects. The weight also helps keep the table stationary so you are not chasing it all around the shop when doing large routing projects. Have a great up coming weekend.

Charles, Thank you for your positive comment. It is a big table and heavy enough that you do not have to chase if around the shop. It’s weight also helps to dampen any vibrations and tall enough that you do not have to bend over. I have used a lot of router tables and this one is a real joy to use. The accuracy and the speed that you can produce a cut if excellent and second to none. I would build another one in a heart beat if I had he room. I build a lot of cabinet doors so multiple tables would be a plus. It is a Marc Sommerfeld table and like all his tools they are superior and excellent design and quality.
Again thank you and have a great summer.
