IN 2006 I HAD THIS CRAZY IDEA OF BENDING A GUITAR TO MAKE AN ARTISTIC TABLE. AFTER MUCH THOUGHT AND DESIGNING THESE ARE THE RESULTS. I USED BEAUTIFULLY FIGURED QUILTED MAPLE. I LAMINATED SOME WALNUT IN THE MIDDLE, AND MORE MAPLE ON THE BOTTOM. I CUT AND FORMED THE BODY. I PURCHASE NICE GUITAR NECKS. I AIRBRUSH RED AND YELLOW DYE’S AROUND THE EDGES AND MIDDLE. I CHOOSE THE RIGHT DICHROIC AND IRRIDESCENT GLASS FOR THE INLAYS. WITH THE GLASS INLAYS I SIMULATED THE KNOBS, PICK GUARD, PICKUPS AND BRIDGES.
I USED WALNUT FOR THE LEGS AND SIMULATED A LEATHER STRAP LAYING ON THE FLOOR. I FINISHED WITH MULTI COATS OF HIGH GLOSS LACQUER. i PUT GOLD SPARKLE IN THE FIRST COAT OF LACQUER. I FINISHED THE FIRST ONE IN JUNE 2008 AND IT SOLD AT AN ART SHOW 2 DAYS LATER. THE SECOND ONE I BUILT IN AUGUST, 2008. THE THIRD IN SEPTEMBER 2008.
THIS IS THE SECOND ONE I BUILT. IT REPRESENTS A GIBSON LES PAUL WITH A SUNBURST FINISH.

just curious if you don’t mind sharing, what do you sell these for? seems like you may have found a niche, I love it when people do that I am happy for them…my sister’s ex-bf now has a 5k sq ft shop with 9 employees all making good money, and it started from his first sale making a crazy custom drum set out of a bicycle frame.

That’s awesome. Nicely executed.
