IN 2006 I HAD THIS CRAZY IDEA OF BENDING A GUITAR TO MAKE AN ARTISTIC TABLE. AFTER MUCH THOUGHT AND DESIGNING THESE ARE THE RESULTS. I USED BEAUTIFULLY FIGURED BIRD’S EYE CURLY MAPLE. I LAMINATED SOME CHERRY IN THE MIDDLE, AND MORE MAPLE ON THE BOTTOM. I CUT AND FORMED THE BODY. I PURCHASE A NICE GUITAR NECK. I AIRBRUSH DYE AROUND THE EDGES AND MIDDLE OF THE BODY AND THE BOTTOM OF THE NECK. I CHOOSE THE RIGHT DICHROIC AND IRRIDESCENT GLASS FOR THE INLAYS. WITH THE GLASS INLAYS I SIMULATED THE KNOBS, PICK GUARD, PICKUPS AND BRIDGES.
I USED WALNUT FOR THE LEGS AND DYED IT BLACK TO SIMULATED A LEATHER STRAP LAYING ON THE FLOOR. I FINISHED WITH MULTI COATS OF HIGH GLOSS LACQUER. I PUT SILVER SPARKLE IN THE FIRST COAT OF LACQUER. I FINISHED THE FIRST ONE IN JUNE 2008 AND IT SOLD AT AN ART SHOW 2 DAYS LATER. THE SECOND ONE I BUILT IN AUGUST, 2008. THE THIRD IN SEPTEMBER 2008.
This the third one. It is modeled similar to a Fender Stratocaster with a Blueburst Finish

I have a feeling that you’ll be making a lot more of these. Very nice.

interesting concept… what kind of air brush setup do you use. I’m interested in trying that technique myself someday

You gotta be so careful carrying your guitar onto elevators…look what can happen LOL!
Great looking chair, nice execution.
