This tree had to be taken out since it was litterally lifting the foundation of the house.
The base is 10 feet and tapers slightly, the top of the stup is 6 foot. The first log cut from the massive stump had a 6 foot butt and didnt taper at all & produced perfectly clear lumber.
The other logs were all huge and had to be quartered on site to even move out of the back yard of this Beaverton home.

dude, not fair, stop it….hahah I only wish I had the equipment/was in an area to do that stuff, but actually in a sense I got some people to do that for me! well i won’t get slabs, but i get trunks! babies in comparison to the size of ur harvests, tomorrow i am gonna get more pepperwood than i know what to do with though, the guy said the base was like 6’ wide but i told him noooo, i can’t do anything with that, i can’t even CUT that with my chainsaw! well, safely/cleanly. So jealous of what you’re gonna be able to do with those 12’x5’x3.5” walnut slabs!

Great tree, not sure how I missed this post before. Do you cut for the owner or keep the lumber? I like cutting Redwood, wish we had more around here.
