This is a clock that I made as a Christmas gift and copied after the one made by Alongiron:
The person I made it for is fascinated with all things early 20th century and when I saw the original project I thought it would be a cool idea. Mine of course, doesn’t compare to the one I copied it from. For starters, I used pine and not cherry since this was my first project of this kind. I finished it with Minwax in cherry, a few coats of wiping poly and some wax. The front panel has a glass pane behind it. The little square windows were tricky to cut and I had to purchase a square file to make them evenly sized.
It took me a good few hours to sketch the plans and calculate the dimensions. It was a race against time. I had ordered the dial and movement but didn’t have them on hand so had to operate with the measurements off of ebay. It all came together nicely though, and I finished the project in three evenings.
Thank you for looking and thanks Alongiron for the inspiration.
