I always liked this style guitar so I figured why buy when you can spend twice as much and make my own.

The body is made from alder, I like the way it carves and sands smooth.
The neck is off an old Samick guitar that I never played. Scale is set for the Samick.
Rear humbucker is a Fender from a Tex Mex Strat, the front is a Dragonfire made.
I wired it with two volume controls and one tone. I will add a switch soon.
I used a Strat bridge since it is simple and easier to set the intonation for me.

So cool!

I need to make a guitar one of these days. I don’t think I could make a neck though. That I would buy. :)

I don’t play guitar…....I can’t even play a Kazoo yet I still think this is very cool. Looking really good.
Well done.

Shiner, let’s hear you do some plunking on it!
It looks great, although I’m kind of a guitar and electronics geek too and am interested in the pickups, the tuners and the tail/bridge.

Come on, toss us a bone, tell us what the body, neck and fretboard are made of!
