Well I finally finished the Christmas present for the little girl next door.
This was much more difficult that I imagined it would be for such a simple looking idea. My wife pick out the plans at the local Woodcraft store. Seems like she always finds something that will challenge me and force me to learn new things. I guess I should thank her for that.
The upholstery didn’t turn out as nice as I had hoped it would but Mimi likes it (she picked it out). The plans called for using dowels on all of the joints. I thought I would be smart and use biscuits. Best laid plans of… turns out even #0 biscuits were too big for the joints. So dowels it was. I used wormy red oak, walnut stain and gloss poly finish that way it matches the cradle I made for her.
Thanks for looking!
Lew
