I don’t know if this is a chair first or a bookcase first, but it was fun to build for my son who has more books than the local library. No matter what it serves it purpose well of giving him someplace to sit down and someplace to hold a portion of his library.

The entire chair is about 3 feet square and it is set on a heavy duty set of casters so that we can move the entire thing as necessary. There are four adjustable shelf bookcases, a large open space under the seat and another storage space behind the seat back.

The seat is covered with some high-density foam that has real leather covers that match the sofa and love seat in the same room. To top it off is a nice little LED book light and as you can see from the photos, it is already being put to use quite well.

Very cool idea! I am also a huge book collector. Once I get settled and have my shop up and running again, (currently in a transitional situation), I may have found my first project to jump back in with.

Thanks for sharing.

Now that is just what I need. It would eliminate the bookcase I have to keep next to my chair. Great deign nicely done.

Lovely book chair, wonderful place to get lost in words.
Lucky son to get a gift like this from his father.
Best thoughts,

Space: the final frontier. These are the voyages of the starship Enterprise. Its continuing mission: to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no one has gone before.

However you call it, it looks great and very functional. Every ’’reading’’ adict would take it as it’s own piece of paradise.

This is the type of chair I need to build for my office, even with 3 bookshelves I am running out of space. It looks great and is going to my favorites list.
