So, what to do with a slab of red oak that split off of a tree at my parent’s house about this time last year during an ice storm? Since this tree was designated by my son as “his tree” some 30 years ago, I decided to free hand his initials. Chainsaw the slab fairly flat…then band saw the initials…grinder with 36 grit pad to shape…sand smooth to 360 grit…couple coats of Danish oil followed by a couple coats of poly. Left the chainsaw grooves on the back. Free standing. Stands about 18” tall.

Happy New Year, All!!!
