Project Information
I was suppose to make this 6 months ago when my wife graduated from Nursing School. Better late than never though I guess.
The frame is made of Brazilian Cherry, and the backing is a 1/4" piece of Birch that had some cool figure in it.
Finish is a mix I learned of from LJ Shampeon, it's BLO/DNA/Shellac, and a few coats of a wax mixture I made consisting of BLO/Beeswax/Mineral oil.
It's measures 20"x32". Turned out pretty well, the miters are tight, thanks to my new Bosch Axial Glide saw.
Pic 1 - Finished and hanging on the wall
Pic 2 - Pre glue-up, checking the fit
Pics 3-5 - Fitting the hinges & applying finish
