This is a cherry cradle I made for my grand daughter. I copied a cradle that dates to the 1830’s>

This is great! Cherry is good wood! Clever how the Sleeper/Rocker/Cradle rocks on this plan.

What is the size of the cradle?

That is a very unique piece. I bet you became very fast at turning the spindles since there’s so many. It looks great.

It looks like an neat old design… where did you get that plan or were did you find the piece you copied… Pulled a Norm and measured it up yourself?

David this is a beautiful piece.

Like the others, I am impressed with the finish. Would you please elaborate on this a little more?

Unfortunately, the design would not meet Australian Standards as the hight of the railing is too low. I believe it needs to be 18” above the top of the mattress. What are the USA safety standards for this?

Don: I found some web information on crib and cradle, but the only one on cradles was it shouldn’t swing greater than 20 deg.

It’s a Canadian site

The crib seemed to have a height requirement because babies that use them are older.
