Simple cutting board

I’ve seen quite a few cutting boards here, and never gave them more consideration than seeing the lovely grains or the spectacular patterns created. Well after giving this one a shot, I have a newfound appreciation for the amount of effort it takes just to put together a simple cutting board. Walnut and Maple scraps left over from my workbench.

This board is 20” long and 14-1/4” wide, at just over an inch thick.

I didn’t really document my progress or anything. I actually thought I’d slap this together in a couple hours. LOL!

So here’s a project, albeit a humble one. Thanks for looking!

Thanks, moron! I still feel bad when I type your screen name. My own screen name has caused that in others, but I know I don’t mind being called buckethead. :-)

looks like a pretty nice board to me, really like the color and the 2 maple pieces in the middle really set it off.

Thanks guys…

Recycle, I cruised over to your profile and took a gander at those superior cutting boards. Fantastic.

Sly, I never got around to officially posting my workbench as a project. I suppose after such a long project, I didn’t have the gumption to seal the deal. I did do a bondo, of sorts. Hidden somewhere in the bench thread.

Tim, thanks for the kind words. I perused your page too. I am humbled to be able to talk to and learn from such excellent wood workers.

Thanks buckethead, I’m way too whimpy to start on cutting boards – I’m leaving them to guys that know what they are doing.
