I BUILT THESE LAMPS FOR THE “LODGE ROOM” IN OUR HOUSE.
THE UPRIGHT PARTS ARE MADE OF ALASKAN DIAMOND WILLOW.
WHEN THE BARK IS CAREFULLY REMOVED, THE WOOD UNDERNEATH HAS A LOT OF INTERESTING PATTERNS.
FINISHING WITH A CLEAR POLY BRINGS OUT THE COLORS.
THE BEARS ARE MAIL ORDER!

WHAT I LEARNED TODAY….
BILL ASKED WHERE HE CAN GET ALASKAN DIAMOND WILLOW WITH OUT GOING TO ALASKA, SO I WENT ONLINE AND GOOGLED DIAMOND WILLOW WOOD.
>THE WOOD IS NOT EXCLUSIVE TO ALASKA.
>>IT GROWS IN A LOT OF DIFFERENT PLACES INCLUDING THE LOWER 48 AND…
>>>IT IS NOT A SPIECIES OF WOOD RATHER A FUNGUS GROWS IN THE WOOD AND THAT CAUSES THE UNIQUE PATTERNS.
THE SHADES ARE ALSO MAIL ORDER.

I agree completely with Os. Nice meshing together of the different elements Ray. Wonderful work and thanks for sharing.
