Mmmm,... smells like root beer! Well, at least while working the wood.
Sassafras, a very durable wood, is used in cabinetry, buckets, barrels and poles and is quick to regenerate after a disturbance. It was used by colonists to make root beer, and is also used medicinally. Sassafras is a laurel and this blank looks a bit like poplar, with the texture of pecan wood – who’s fruit is also a drupe.
This is another blank that came out of the infamous intracontinental pen swap. – Thanks Karson!
This black titanium Euro style pen was hand sanded smooth and finished with walnut oil and high build friction polish.
This is the 29th item in my 30 day project/challenge
& auction.
