Another and last edition to Ben’s Bedroom Suit. Completed, except for installing a ceiling fan. Well, I might have to build him a desk one day.
You may have noticed since the bed pictures that the room has been painted now suitable for a young lad. My boy is growing up.

All in all, I’d say it’s a first-rate bedroom!

Looks good, I am assuming it’s cherry?
Are the end panels just three boards, and one has been left thicker than the other for the raised effect inside the cabinet? It does not appear from the photo that the system is a dual panel arrangement.

No, the wood is northern red oak. There is a board in the middle with dados to receive the oak plywood panel sides. This design varied somewhat from the bed and chest which is just a single piece of plywood floating in the boundary boards with strips of oak to mimic the shaker or stick look.
Thanks for the compliments, it was fun to build and hopefully will enjoy for years to come.

WOW , That’s a nice stand….right down to the hardware : ) Is this an original or did you purchase plans somewhere ? The finish looks great from here. Added to my favorites !

Thanks, this was a plan from Wood Magazine that I modified some. Finish is Watco Danish Oil (dark walnut) with some wipe on poly. Relatively easy to build and the hardware was ordered at Home Depot (much cheaper than anything online < $2 each). If I can remember, I’ll post again with the issue month.
