After I made blanket chests for my two brothers and sister-in-laws as wedding presents, my mom really wanted one. So I made her a cedar blanket chest; She loves it.
Last picture is a “jig” I made to cut an undercut on the back for the piano hinge.
Wood: aromatic eastern red cedar
Finish: BLO and bee’s wax
Dimensions: 38’” long, 18” tall, 17” deep
