I’ve been wanting to build a miter saw stand for several years. I’ve looked at dozens of different types, but I need something that’s mobile and doesn’t require much space. I finally decided on John White’s version that appeared in Fine Woodworking a few years ago. I used his basic plan, but added a drawer and a shelf for cut offs rather than his dust collection with a shop vac. It’s made of Baltic birch except for the drawer front which is maple. The table top is 38” high and it’s 7’ wide with the wings extended. With the wings down its about 32” wide. Eventually it will get the Kreg Smart Stop system.
