My sister is a rock hound. Has them everywhere. She asked me years ago to make her a shadow box for them but it was over my abilities at the time. I don’t think I had anything but a circular saw and a router and the best of my abilities was not very good. The case is made of 8/4 and 4/4 red oak and finished with rattle can lacquer. The legs and aprons are mortised and tenoned together, and the legs are tapered on two sides. There is a mirror on the bottom, a LED light strip, and then a piece of ¼ inch glass. The rocks will set on the glass between the dividers, and be lit from below.
