My first piece of furniture:
Well, I finally finished this project a couple of weeks ago. It only took about a year. It’s amazing how fast other little projects get in the way. Anyway, I found the plan for this table over five years ago on the web while looking for one to purchase. Well, I never did purchase one and put this project on my bucket list right after the entry, “take up woodworking.”
After several thousand “learning experiences,” here she is…complete with several patches to the tenons, epoxy/sawdust filler for worm holes, etc on the top and much handwork to fix the face of the legs with the mortise after a belt sander “learning experience.”
The wood for the legs, the aprons and the top are all from different sources, but I was able to choose wood that matched pretty well.
The finish is pure tung oil with a coat Minwax paste wax on the top. I wish I had waited for my renaissance wax to arrive before using that Minwax.
I hope to get a better picture, but time and lighting have not allowed me to do so.
Comment and suggestions are always welcome.

Very nice Bill. You did a great job blending the wood for color.

Looks like a fine table, Bill.
Your next one should take no longer than 8 or 9 months. :-)

Very nice, and it sounds like you learned a lot along the way.

Just out of curiousity, why no minwax? Is there a noticable difference? This looks really great.

If there are mistakes only you know where they are, and while we’re on the subject, the only one you have to please, is the man in the mirror. Very nice looking table.
