This is a travel case I made for our company’s General Manager. It will be used to carry the documents used in justifying each service organization that was started over the last 42+ years. We have 60+ sites in North America.

The entire case is made from solid cherry. The box joints were created using an interlocking 45 degree miter bit for the box sides and a .250” rabbiting bit to recess the bottom. The lid thickness started at 1.500” and was milled down with a CNC router which created the .500” raised graphics.

I purchased the 3/8” x 1” SOSS invisible hinges, chest handle and small brass box catches from Woodcraft. The brass chain was purchased from our local Lowe’s store.

I used an Apollo HVLP sprayer to apply four coats of Deft clear wood satin lacquer.

Very well done. The raised graphics look great and cherry is always a nice wood for projects like this. What are the dimensions of the case?
