I offered to build a cradle for the new baby, but my son asked for a rocker. So, I built him a rocker based on plans my wife found in an old issue of Popular Woodworking.

Nice! I’m assuming that that deck is over the rockers?

I’ve got some friends who are long-time Burning Man artists, and I was thinking about making their daughter a rocking horse, but you’ve got the creative juices flowing on what I could do that’d be more… well… playa friendly.

Dan: Yes, the rockers are underneath. I’ll try to find if I have sany photo’s while under construction; if so, I’ll upload—soon as I figure out how!
PS: It lives in Sherman Oaks, not too far from you!

Cool ride Len. A lot of different woods here. Poplar, Oak, Pine, maple…? All natural color?

What a great idea! I think you did your grandson very good. I see a heirloom to be passed down.

If you look closely at Len’s avatar, you can see how it rocks.
