Just finished this clock project. Wish I could claim the design was mine but it wasn’t. It came from Marc Spagnuolo over at www.thewoodwhisperer.com. If you don’t watch his video podcast, you need to. He’s the best!!
The clock is made from Wenge on the outter frame with the inner part that holds the clock made from Birch. I wanted the dowels to also be made from the same wood so I turned them on my lathe out of the same Birch. The splines on the corners are also Birch. I had to make a special jig for cutting the splines and you can see that on Marc’s video as well. Everything is finished with Minwax Wipe on Poly.

I’m a Regular on The woodwhisperer.
you ought to check out my Scroll Saw Project that i just submitted to the Critique section on his site.
I also have it here on my profile.
I took Marc’s TWW Logo, and Converted it to a Scroll Saw Pattern, Then I scrolled it out for him.
Check it out sometime.
Really good work by the way!

Nice design. I like the wood grain and color contrast.
