I built this for a standing desk. You put it on your desk and put your keyboard and monitor on it.
I call it a baby table. It’s really proportioned like a table, but it’s only 13 inches high. It’s made from pine boards. The legs are made from two boards glued together and cut down to 1.5 inches square, then tapered on the table saw. I attached the apron to the legs with mortise and tenon joints. The tenons are cut with a shop made jig on the table saw and I chopped the mortises with a chisel.
I spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to finish it in an attractive way. I suspect that Charles Neil’s blotch control is the way to go, but I used water-diluted Titebond, then a Cherry gel stain, topped with a wipe on polyurethane.
