Maple and walnut butcher block/ table for a friends small kitchen. The top is 5” thick, the legs are laminated 5-1/2×2-1/4 and the bottom shelf is 2” thick. I used walnut stain on the side of the top to get a uniformed look. Everything has 3 coats of poly except the top which is oiled and waxed. Since they are going to use it as a table and for cutting I split the height to 34”. I used a hand plane for the first time ever on the top. It was awesome!! Thanks for looking!!!

I think you are being modest here. I just did a butcher block that the top was all the same length and wood and it was a little work. This is beautiful and a lot of work. Great job.

Very cool! Is there any significance to the pattern on the top?
Watch out for those hand planes. They get addicting real quick!

No just a pattern I thought would look good and be different. Yeah I’ve been restoring hand planes and decided to go for it. Yes it was quite cool to use! Thanks you all!

Very impressive work. The design and combo of woods works well together!?
