Clocks and weather gauges

Project by ferstler posted 363 days ago 436 views 6 times favorited 5 comments Add to Favorites Watch

I recently built these items using clock, thermometer, and weather-gauge mechanicals from Klockit. Most are clocks only (some small, some a bit bigger), but two hold both a clock and thermometer and one holds a weather gauge that includes a barometer, hygrometer, and thermometer.

The wood is mostly dark-stained and urethaned cedar, although one, shown light stained, was made from a section of 2×4 pine that did not have knots.

A local arts/crafts shop may put these on display as consignment items, but if they do not sell (after all, the economy is in free fall these days) I will have plenty of Christmas presents for relatives and friends.

Woodowrking was accomplished mainly with a drill press, band saw, several forstner bits, a benchtop sander, a table saw, a miter saw, and plenty of hand sanding.

A 15-inch steel ruler is in front of each group to show relative size.

Good idea for gifts. They look nice. Let us know how well they sell.

I like the blue face face dials….very elegant. I wish you the best and hope they sell. Let us know if they sell. We could all use some light at the end of this tunnel.

Very nice projects. I think those blue dials are striking. They look much better on your project than in the catalog.
