Well…I posted #2, 3, and 4 this morning and then got out to the shop for a few hours and made three more! That is one aspect of turning that I am really enjoying…I think these three are better then the previous 4 and I wish that the pictures matched the grain and beauty of the woods.
The smaller “hour glass” one is made out of olive wood and the other two I am pretty sure are blood wood.
Well…I have a couple more that I need to finish this week before we head out for Thanksgiving—and seeing the family members that will be the recipients of them…
Then its back to work for the next round for colleagues and more family members before Christmas break…so I will be at the lathe making a lot of pens and bottle stoppers over the next month…

Do you finish the olive wood with anything? I kind of like the feel of the unfinished wood.
