I made 9 of these for Christmas for Family. I used a Red Oak with a cutting board finishing oil, and used a piece of plexiglass as a cover to protect the pages of the cookbook. The pattern was on that I found online for free. They turned out very nice. (If I say so myself). Getting the angle correct on the back support pieces was a little tricky. Everybody seemed to love them and I have actually witnessed 4 of them being used, so far. LOL

nicely done and since you’re seeing them actually being used they must be a good design!
I like how you can move the plexiglass in and out to accommodate different book sizes.
And I love the back design. Nice!

As Ms. Debbie said I like that adjustable plexiglass, the first feature I saw … I look at pics most often from back to front :-D
Any way, great look and functionality!

This is cool. Almost looks like 2 ducks talking to each other on the back. Great job Greg!

Good functional Project. Something that is used and enjoyed.
And I assume when you saw it being used then you got to try the results of that project!

Greg, this is great. Fact is, I have been thinking about making something like this not for the kitchen, but for my shop where I always seem to have a magazine or reference book open and flat, taking up space and being hard to read. Think I’ll give your approach a shot. thanks so much for posting!

Thanks Greg! Good point Chip. Keeps the saw dust and shellac off of the magazine article.
