Pretty nice Dresser also.
I’m going to be a Critic just like I am on all post and comments lol, so don’t get too mad or upset. lol
The project looks really nice… For your first project. The top sides and drawers are very well made…
The Stain on the other hand… it looks good also, but it’s blotchy. There are a lot of light and dark areas on the sides and all.
Next time you may attempt do do a Stain Job, there are 2 Methods that I just learned tonight that will cut down on the project being blotchy.
A 1lb Cut of Shellac, rubbed and let dry, then Apply your stain. This although will give you a much lighter color to your project.
or
A Jell Stain, Which preformed really well, with or without the Shellac.
The outcome was a very Smooth non blotchy even coat.
Give it a try next time, and see if you like the end result.
But all in all, it looks REALLY Great!
What kind of Joints did you do for the Drawers?

Very nice for a first time! I’m sure you learned a lot, and things will only get better.

This Particular Dresser was basically a bleachwood ply box screwed together from the top and bottom with a center stabilizer piece. The front frame went on with dowel joints and the front pieces were purchased pine at 12 inches. I did this dresser a few years back and have since upgraged the garage in many ways. now i am using mortise and tennon joints and frames, doing my own glueups and using better staining and finishing techniques. there are a few other dressers i posted to show what i feel are improvements in woodworking.
