Oak Pen and Pencil set

Project by rikkor posted 350 days ago 416 views 0 times favorited 10 comments Add to Favorites Watch

I made this set as a gift. The oak comes from a piece of firewood given to me by the aircraft dispatcher at work. It is a Comfort Grip set I got from WoodTurningz.

nice one !

something a little different

I’d like to make pens, but if I bought a mini lathe …. I might have to keep it next to my easy chair and laptop.
If it wasn’t for the wife, I probably would.

Very nice rikkor,

Oak is one of my favorite woods.

You must have enough of that firewood left, for many more pens.

Thanks Dick. Between what I’ve already made and what I have left it was probably 20 blanks total.

Nicely done. I recently tried that kit and had some trouble with the grip on the end. Looks like you got that covered. Did you make the box as well?

No, it was a purchase. I do plan to try it, though. (Probably for next year’s gifts)
