I’ve been very fortunate to have a good relationship with a local micro brewery. I’ve had the opportunity to redesign both their bar and tasting room (posted here, and their tap handles (here So for Christmas, I made the owner a display box for his growler and tasting glasses. I carved a picture of the owner taken as he was working in his new brewery last year.

A word of unsolicited advice for my Lumberjock friends who use their love of woodworking to make money – build relationships, not clients. The money will come, but developing strong friendships around your community is something that cannot be replaced with a large bank account.

God bless and happy new year…

Stopped in to see the Walnut bar, it turned out better than the pictures can show. Included a lot of great ideas not normally found. The Dovetails really look good in plywood. I bet you are as great of a teacher as you are as a craftsman. Did you get the Martinsville job too?

Thanks for sharing your great ideas and keep on teaching us Lumber Jocks new tricks.
My son is a high school English teacher at Mt. Vernon. Built a bar for his home in Pendleton.

Thanks for the kind words. Your son’s bar is awesome, great job. I did do the Martinsville tasting room, but haven’t posted pictures…probably should.

Great job. Your advice needs to be the golden rule in woodworking. Relationships are everything, if you want to make money at it.

Nice job on the box. Gotta try the 3 Pints Black IPA, it’s awesome!
