My first post, Hello everyone.

Bought a new house in October, which was the perfect excuse for homemade presents this year. I didn’t get nearly as many done as I would have liked, I am terrible at judging my time. The first two are combinations of projects I have seen on here. I work a lot of night shifts with a lot of spare time, I started on the last page of the projects and read all the way forward through every single page. lol

The wine boxes are done with a hand rubbed paste wax finish and the sliding tops double as wine tilts. The coat rack/picture holder is still missing the hinges in the picture, but behind the pictures is a 4×5x30” storage space. The push sticks are from a template that I found online that gets tweaked a little everytime I cut out a new one. I usually laminate together some pallet boards or other scrap with interesting grain until I get a piece big enough. The sandpaper glued to the bottom gives excellent grip/control, and I make them wide enough that they won’t wobble when you are applying some downforce. Also, the hook on the back is handy for holding small pieces against a miter fence if you turn the stick around.

Welcome to LJ. Shop time spent making something as a gift is the best time for me.
