I built this castle for my two amazing little girls for christmas, with a little help from Santa’s elves. So far they love it, they even “camped out” in there last night.

Construction is pretty basic, just sheet goods and some scrap pine and poplar for all the trim. All in I spent about $50 building this including the paint, cheaper than most of the other things they got for this Christmas! It’s built directly into the doorway of a closet in the basement. I just took down the sliding doors and built this to fit in the opening, and then added two towers to dress it up a bit. The hardest part was fitting and installing it at midnight after a few Christmas eve beverages.

Awesome job for the daughters! I recently built a princess headboard that is now just a play prop in the bonus room, but they still love it. Nice job. In seeing your design, I think my project could have been improved by the addition of the wood overlays on the top borders. Nice job, and well done!
