A writing box i made for my daughter. It’s made out of red oak, with cedar splines on the mitered corners. The lower lid inside just lays in place, and the upper lid is held in place with magnets. The red ribbon is to help pick up paper an envelopes in the compartments. I put on a golden oak stain, then finished with acrylic for a harder .surface.

Thanks for looking!

This is very nice. I like working with red oak too. I’m working to learn the splines too. Thanks.
