I had some scraps laying around and my wife wanted a new holder for pencils, pens, scissors, etc. Nothing fancy but I think turned out nice. The fun part was that all the wood I used was from local trees – maple, walnut, QSWO and cherry. And, I had an excuse to buy a new forstner bit. A win all the way around.

I like the simplicity of it. Nice one.

Nice easy project, and a reason to spend time in the shop.

Great use of the local woods—and hey, any excuse to get new tools, right?!

JFred, he mentioned maple, walnut, QSWO and cherry.
