So, at the shop we have a ceramics studio as well as the wood shop, and I’ve been learning to throw on the potters wheel. I decided to try and make a goblet using clay and wood. This is the final product. The base is cherry. I admit though that I was hoping for a darker blue. This was a lot of fun, I used my knowledge of wood turning to shape the cup. I shaped the cup with a “tenon” on the base, drilled a hole into the “stem” of the base with a forstner bit and epoxied them together.

Very nice combination. I think your bowl is the right color for the cherry. It really enhances the wood. It’s beautiful.
