I purchased one long flamed birch lumber several years ago from Amish sawmill.
Since then, I’ve been looking for the right place. Now I think, it’s in the right place,
replacing old metallic desk in my den.
I’ve been desperate to finish the project before Christmas to take a long break
until new year.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year !!!!

Used walnut and cherry. Also made drawers black and white… just for fun.
Finish with boiled linseed oil and water-base polyurathane.

This “Before” is replaced with my new one.

Dusty / Initially made it as table but it looks more like desk, so I call it a desk. haha

Great looking piece Ryan. What is flamed birch lumber? They literally flame it with a torch? Never heard of that before. Beautiful work man!

-- Glue-up is still the stage when everything that was perfect in dry-fit goes horribly wrong, but I'm working on it.

Great looking table, I think you truly did the wood justice.

dan81 / It’s a birch but has figured shapes like maple and cherry,
and its color is reddish. I think it’s not so common as figured cherry
but sometimes big lumber stores carry it.
If you do google search, you can see more pictures.
Thank you looking.

Ryan, the first thought I had when I saw your entry was “Elegant!”. What a handsome piece. It’s also inspiring. This one goes on my “want to make” list. Very well done!

LarryB / I hardly satisfied after making my furniture, but this one is exception. Thank you.
