Zebrawood and Dark Walnut Jewelry Box

I really enjoy looking, working, and the smell of Walnut. Walnut also has so many different looking grains. The Walnut I used with this jewelry box has a lot of great dark grain in it. I felt as though the Zebrawood added to the box, I had different grain but matched up pretty good. It measures 12” square and 8” deep.
The top earring tray, when removed, reveals two more trays. One for rings and the other for bracelets.
When those two trays are taken out there is ample room for a lot more jewelry.
Finished with two coats of Tung Oil and 3 coats of Lacqure. Then polished lightly with wax.

Another great looking box. You do such precision work and have some wonderful design ideas. You must have a good source for the Zebrawood. I see you use it frequently in your boxes.

Do you build most things to sell or for the family?

Thanks Wrangler. I have all my stuff on Etsy.com. I don’t rob people with my prices. I just try to get my material costs and a little extra for shop accessories.
You can look at my stuff at www.DuckWorkShop@etsy.com
Have a Merry Christmas my friend.

Duck I sure do like this box. It looks like a mans jewelry box. And I mean that in the highest regard. What do you think?
Merry Christmas

Thanks Flatrock. I’m guessing your talking about the color selection. Otherwise I would have to assume that you like earrings

Well done, I have to agree about the Walnut as well. Really nice, zebra is fun to work with as well.

Good lookin’ box there Duck, I really like the rich glow of walnut. The ring till(?) is a nice touch, and I find that the girls like lots of little cubby’s to sort and store things. Great finish.
I might have made the lift handle a bit smaller and used a more contrasting spline, but that’s just me, sometimes less is more.
I have never listed anything on Esty, but I have made purchases … good site.
Here’s wishing you and yours a very merry Christmas and a happy hang over …
