I made these walnut and cherry end grain cutting boards for Christmas presents this year. I made 11 of them total including the large one in the last picture. This was my first time making cutting boards and I realized it takes a LONG time to sand wood end grain.

Last year I made Texas mesquite wooden spoons with turquoise inlay as family Christmas presents so I wanted to make something along those same lines. I’ll have to try to find those pictures on my last phone so I can add them. I bet you can guess which one I made for my wife and I to keep. It just so happens that the large one (ours) has some minor imperfections. Oh well.

Nicely done. A great gift for sure.
