Yesterday, I finished my first clock which combines colorful Kokomo glass and green stabilized pen blanks from Penn State industries. I posted it previously here.
Today, I finished the 2nd clock, but instead of green and white glass, I used brown-white Kokomo glass number 11. I used a yellow stabilized pen blank as well.
This clock also turned out very nice. The yellow columns (turned stabilized wood pen blanks) compliment the brown-white Kokomo glass.
I am anxious to build some more of these clocks and try using blue and red color motiffs. I will have to take a drive to Kokomo, Indiana, to pick out some more glass before I build these. I have ordered glass from Kokomo glass using their web site, but you don’t know what the glass will look like until it arrives, since no two pieces are the same. Since it is about a 2.5 hour drive for me, I will think I will drive over and pick out my glass pieces myself.
If you are interested in the trials & tribulations of designing and building these 2 clocks, see more details at my web site.
