Hey Fellow Woodworkers, I just completed another project. It’s a Queen Platform Bed. The Client brought me the Headboard and asked if I could build her a platform to attach to it. The trick was the headboard was only a double size. I told her that I could build it but it will overhang off both side of the headboard. To my surprise she said “I don’t CARE”. So with that I built this platform. It’s rails are made of Yellow Pine 7/8” thick and the slats are 3/4” cabinet grade plywood glued and screwed together. I installed bed rail hook hardware in both rails and then added blocks at all four corners to give it character and to help the longer screws for the hardware to have something to bite into. The overhang ended up being about 3.5” total on each side. With allot of sanding and then priming it was ready for the final color. The client told me she had no preference in color so my better half picked out Chocolate Brown. After painting it I agreed with the better half in the color choice, I had doubts before, and all was good. So here it is in all it’s glory for one and all to look at. Mind you it’s not Chip & Dales but it’s a nice bed.
Thanks for looking and commenting.
