These were done for a family member, based on pictures she found on the internet.
She picked curly & semi-curly cherry because of the grain pattern, but chose to have them stained antique walnut.
I ended up painting the drawer bodies and case interiors because of too much sap wood exposed on the interior sides of the boards.
These were the first pieces I ever made that have a poly finish. I’d mostly used penetrating oil finishes in the past. Because of trying to get a really smooth/perfect finish on these, it was a real learning experience.
