Just a small commisioned box. We used Walnut and Maple on this one. Hope someone enjoys the grain if nothing else. I’ve enjoyed looking at so many of your projects we figured it was time to start posting a few.

LOL! Guess someone didn’t specify that very well did they? The logo is a Watchtower. It was made for a small inconspicuous contribution box. The Watchtower is the earthly symbol of God’s Kingdom for Jehovah’s Witnesses.

A very nice walnut box. Your joinary is superb. Is the lid made separately or cut from the box? What you have used for the finish?

This box the lid was cut seperately from the same board. The finish is 4 coats of poly. Thanks for the comments.

:-) I was curious to see how many would favor this wood as we did. Funny thing is all 8’ x 10” of it was laying here in what will someday be our new shop covered in bird poo. You couldn’t even really tell what the wood underneath was until cleaning it up.

I also found what appears to be chesnut. Does anyone know, did they use Chesnut for Barn timber back in the early 1900’s?
