I am throwing this one up as another example. It occurs to me that thie Pine inlay was the third thing I did this morning before starting any real projects. If you have seen the video of the Mark Sillay turning a finial out of 2×4, I thought I would try to do the same. While I am still not anywhere near as adept as Mark in making finials, I did manage to get nice clean cuts using his convex spindle grind. With the exceptions of using my 2 parting tools, this tool was what I used all day.
The only thing I will add is that I like the size of the inlay in this one and so I made a bunch more out of Rosewood to use in my projects.
Enjoy!
Tim
