This is an Oak goblet that I made in my turning class. While I am not crazy about oak, I do like the shape.
As an aside, I must say that since I have purchased a lathe, I have not done much else. It’s too easy to go into the shop, make and finish something and then call it a day. I do have a couple of boxes to make for Christmas so I better get motivated soon!

Nice looking goblet. Thanks for sharing.
I would suggest turning a lid and making your Christmas boxes on the lathe. If your anything like me, it’s hard to even walk in the shop without “turning” on the lathe.

Like you, I find turning very satisfying because you can finish a project in a relatively short time.

Very nice goblet. I have been making several pens from oak—by request.

Nice turning and I tell you goblets and boxes are a great way to become good,it involves a whole kind of turnings ways keep at it ,stay away from bowls (adicting) and you will be press hard to leave those and get in to vessels and others turnings, bowls are a bread maker, but to be honest too many going around this days, that is why seldom make some unless ask from a buyer,my 2cents
