Im pretty sure this a first for lumberjocks. In addition to my hobby of woodworking i also enjoy rock climbing. So instead of buying a hangboard for $80 I made one out of some old scrap pine. Ill put up a photo of it in use because its kinda hard to describe it.

Nice it looks good. I too am a rock climber. Have you used it? I made a few hand holds before for my home-made rock wall. Have you seen the 2X6 horizontal crack that people make?

Like this link but overhead. The sky is the limit on this topic.

Nice job! I like your ingenuity and practicality in building something instead of spending money on a store bought one. That being said, a “hangingboard”? The term alone makes me appreciate having both feet on the ground. Best wishes in your college endeavors and aspirations to become a project manager young man. It’s great to see young people enjoying this wonderful hobby of ours.

No way! I would have never thought to make my own hang board. Great idea. I haven’t been climbing since I moved east from Colorado, this makes me want to get back out. Maybe I’ll make my own and see if I still have the form. LOL
