Project Information

Santa finally finished! This was my first attempt at building any type of musical instrument. I thought that they would make good gifts for my two young children and my brother in law's two kids. I ended up with seven because that's where the wood ran out. The necks, body sides and backs are made of mahogany.
The sound boards are made of white oak and black walnut. I don't know if they were the best choices for sound but I thought the contrast would look cool. You can find the plans for them online and for a first attempt they were pretty easy to make. Total cost of materials including the wood and hardware was about $110. They're kind of neat little instruments and I already have ideas in my head about making some with larger sound boxes. Thanks for looking.

Those are very nice. I made one and it was a blast to make, I let my son take it home to play with for a while and it got stolen!

Very nice! Just made my first "tribute" CBG… musical instruments are great to make, and also a joy when played on by somebody who has the talent!
