Well this is the conclusion to the set of toy tools I have been making for my little one for Christmas. The whole package kinda took on a life of it’s own and I may have gone a bit over the deep end with ti but I am stoked and I know he will love this.

This is a small version of the Anarchist Tool Chest. I started this about a week ago and somehow got it finished just in time. I had a bit of a snaffu with the finish (Danish Oil under Poly on the same day.. DOH!) but luckily I was able to get that worked out. I was shooting for “This has been tucked away in the corner for years” look. Meh.. he won’t care.

The last pic are all of the tools he has to play with now (or on Christmas)... everything except for the folding rule/Brace and Tape measure are shop made. You can see most of those in my finished projects .

This chest of tools is one of the coolest projects I’ve seen on LJ. It’s cool not only because of what you’ve made, but even more because of the time and love you’ve put into it. I still remember the Handy Andy tool kit I got for Christmas when I was about your son’s age. It was my doorway into the world of woodworking. Your chest and tools are so much better. They will make a lifetime of memories for your son. A most excellent job, and deserving of the editor’s choice award. I hope the editors are listening.

That is so cool Eric. He is going to have blast working next to dad on his own bench with his tools. Pretty well rounded selection, nice job!

Bob said it well. I’ve lurked enough to see glimpses of theseprojects in totality. I’ve drooled every time I looked. This is a superlative collection and a priceless heirloom. Airframer is ON FIRE!

Wow! Thank you all for the very kind comments.

Bob – Not sure about Editors Choice.. maybe Sams Choice would be closer lol.

Mos – It is Watco Dark Walnut. I was afraid it would be too dark at first but in the end it has grown on me.
