Had to finish something as my main project is too large / slow. Made one quite small end grain cutting board for my parents-in-law (maple and walnut), and one big one, about 40 mm thick out of walnut for my parents. The original idea was also end grain, but the table saw blade was not co-operative. There was so much tear-out that i wouldn’t have been able to get the glue lines to work. I was doing the sawing at my wife’s school’s workshop during weekend, so changing the blade was not an option. And I had about one hour time window anyway…

My main project, a 9-drawer cabinet for the dining room is progressing slowly: The latest session involved cutting dovetails to 72 board ends (9 drawers times 4 boards times 2 ends). Once I glue them together, the only main thing missing are the separate drawer fronts, for which there is a complicated plan involving propeller shapes. Could turn out to be the most time consuming step. Did the same thing a couple of years ago to 6 drawer fronts, and still remember the sweating.
